PETTY PATENT REGISTRATION

Th e applicant has to apply for either petty patent or patent with the same requirements.

The applicant shall submit an application form with application fee. He shall enclose the following documents:
■ Application form
■ Description of invention
■ Claim(s)
■ Drawing (if any)
■ Abstract
■ Assignment form
In case the applicant is not the inventor, the right to apply for a patent shall be assigned or inherited. The assignment of the right to apply for a patent must be in writing and shall require the signatures of the assignor and assignee.
■ Power of attorney
In case the foreign applicant appoints an agent in Thailand, the power of attorney shall be notarized by the notary public or legalized by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consular in such country.
■ Statement of Applicant’s right (If any)
In case the inventor himself applies for the patent, heshall declare his right in the statement of applicant’s right form provided by Thai Patent Office.
■ Priority Certificate
(in case of claiming the priorityright)

Remark
● All documents in foreign language must be translated
into Thai language.
● It is much easier and less time consuming to get a petty patent than a patent. ● In case the applicant wants to change a patent application to petty patent application, he should take the procedure until the patent application is published.
